    We read your progress on your boat with much interest. Hopefully all is going well. Our 23′ has a Mills-Beaumaris and we want to install a Detroit lubricator as pictured in your article. Question:In some of the articles (and directions from Detroit) we have found that an 18″ vertical pipe
    is recommended. Doe the looped steam pipe pictured work as well? In advance, thank you for your assistance.

      Hi Teddy & Carole, thanks for your nice comments. The manual (which you can find online) sais that it is advantageous to have two connections, as you suggest. However, it also says that the single connection with the “onion” is OK. It certainly works, but needs careful handling or over oiling is a probable outcome. There are instructions in the “manual “…it’s only 3 pages scanned from an old book.
